Sewer Line Inspection Services
JABTech Sewer Line Inspections provides inspection-only sewer evaluations for residential properties. Our services are designed to give buyers, sellers, and agents accurate information without conflicts of interest.
Purpose of the Inspection
The purpose of a sewer line inspection is to evaluate the observable condition of the main sewer lateral using a video camera. The inspection focuses on identifying visible material defects, structural damage, improper transitions, and flow-related conditions that may impact system performance or future ownership decisions.
Scope of Inspection
This inspection is limited to the main sewer line located outside the structure. Inspections typically begin at an accessible cleanout and extend toward the city connection where conditions allow.
Interior building drain lines, under-slab piping, and concealed or inaccessible sections are not included. No excavation, dismantling, or destructive testing is performed as part of this service.
Access and Inspection Limitations
Some portions of a sewer system may be inaccessible due to depth, configuration, lack of cleanouts, offsets, or standing water. The inspection is limited to areas that can be visually evaluated using non-invasive camera equipment.
While this inspection can significantly reduce uncertainty, it cannot eliminate all risk. Conditions may exist beyond the camera’s reach or field of view.
What Our Sewer Line Inspections Include
A typical inspection may include:
Camera inspection of accessible sewer lines
Identification of pipe materials and transitions
Evaluation of pipe condition and structural integrity
Documentation of cracks, breaks, offsets, and bellies
Identification of root intrusion and blockages
Verification of the city sewer connection when accessible
Clear, written findings with photos and video references
Every inspection is performed with the intent of informing — not selling repairs.
Inspection-Only Service (Why This Matters)
JABTech provides inspection-only sewer evaluations. No repairs are performed, recommended, or sold. This ensures that findings are documented objectively and without financial bias, allowing clients to make informed decisions based on observed conditions rather than sales pressure.
This means:
No incentive to exaggerate damage
No pressure to approve unnecessary work
Findings are based solely on what is observed
Our role is to provide objective documentation so clients can make informed decisions.
